Consultant’s Profile: Samson Belay

 Samson Belay is a young professional who has been extensively engaged in socio-economic research, sustainable development studies, Project planning and management, baseline and impact assessment surveys, marketing surveys, feasibility studies, and consultancy works in Ethiopia.

 He is a sociologist by education and has attended various training courses, workshops and seminars in Ethiopia and USA on business consulting to small and medium micro enterprises (SMMEs), information and technology(IT), leadership skills for the fight against HIV/AIDS, refugee studies, gender and development issues.

 Samson has served as a consultant, a team leader, senior social worker, coordinator of many workshops and seminars, socio-economic researcher to a national and International organizations such as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), Megan power P.L.C., and GBA consultancy house in the field of need assessment, HIV/AIDS and development, refugee studies, impact assessment, market research, sustainable development strategies, poverty reduction, income generating scheme, food security, sustainable livelihood, monitoring and evaluation of development projects. Samson also has a high caliber in his computer skills and is an A+ Microsoft certified majoring in computer operating system and hard ware .

 He is a member of many professional associations and Interest groups such as, Organization of social science research for east and southern Africa (OSSREA), Ethiopian society of Sociologists, social workers, and Anthropologists (ESSSWA), Addis Ababa chamber of commerce (AACC),roteract club of MELLA and various internet based sociological and environmental professional association.

 Today, Samson works as a consultant at BWA P.L.C. He is single and enjoys touring, reading, swimming, visiting relatives and friends, playing and watching football, and participating on voluntary activities during his spare time.
