Kumsa Legesse has worked for many years in promotion and project panning in the area of micro, small and medium enterprises. He worked with National Metal Works of Ethiopia and the Regional State of Oromiya Industry Bureau in planning, project preparation and evaluation. His educational background is economics and attended various courses that further strength his career capacity at home and abroad. He attended courses in Market Analysis and Forecasting at home, Development of micro scale Manufacturing in Israel, Grameen Bank’s credit operation in Bangladesh and other seminars, Workshops and symposiums here at home in Ethiopia and abroad. He worked also in promoting the development of micro and small enterprises. .In this regard he wrote more than 10 papers and presented five of them on officially organized workshops by three NGO’s and two government offices. He trained co-operative organizers and worked for many years in coordinating micro credit operation in the Regional State of Oromiya. He has worked in various government posts in ascending order. He started working with National Metal Works of Ethiopia as an expert with the title of "Junior Economist" and it took him only very few years to grow to the next higher title. In 1984 he left for Western Shewa for another post although he would have been promoted to the next higher post soon. He served as department head for Industry and Handicrafts in Western Shewa Zone for four years. After the establishment of The Regional State of Oromiya. He worked in the posts of planning head and team leader (division head) in the Bureax of Industry, Trade, Industry and Agency of the Development of micro and Small Scale Enterprises.
He is married and leads descent life with three children. He is interested in the promotion of entrepreneurs and related technology and keen to exploit the potentials of modern information technology in promoting the same.
