Profile of Alemu Muleta

Alemu has been educated at the University of Lugnack in Ukraine, where he has received a Bsc. in Mechanical Engineering and an Msc. in Industrial Economics. He also has a Diploma in Water and Oil Wells from the Institute of Basic Industry in Cuba. Alemu has held various positions in both government and private organizations.

He started as a chief driller in a Soviet Petroleum Exploration and Expedition company. Alemu then shifted from the technical positions to management, where he has held various positions in different government organizations. He has been very active in project planning & implementation, monitoring & evaluation, and report writing.

Alemu has formulated more than 60 different types of development projects for the government, International Organizations and for FACT-ETHIOPIA. FACT-ETHIOPIA is an indigenous NGO, which assists farmers by providing consultancy services and training. He is the founder and board chairman of this NGO.

Today, Alemu is working for the government as a senior expert in advising and consulting SMEs.
